Did you clean the outside of your computer yesterday? I hope so because today we’re going to focus on in inside. Well, at least our desktop.
You may be the most organized person in the world when it comes to your electronic documents, but I am not. At all. It drives my husband crazy. Thankfully, we have separate computers so we don’t have to worry about that too much! Anyway, I have to methodically clean up my computer on a regular basis to keep it manageable.
Here are a few things to think about as you clean your computer desktops.
Spring Clean Your Computer Desktop
How many files are saved to your computer desktop? Go through them today and decide if you can trash them or put them in a more permanent location.
There are so many options when it comes to storing documents. The plethora of choices can sometimes be overwhelming! Whether you store documents on your computer drive, Google Docs, Dropbox, Evernote, iCloud or one of the many photo services, I think it’s most important to choose one or two and stick with them. Jumping around to the latest and greatest service doesn’t usually streamline your processes. If found that it just complicates the system.
Whatever place you choose, go through your documents periodically and delete, delete, delete. But don’t worry about those other places today…just focus on documents that are on your desktop. Get them filed correctly and you’ll be on your way to a more productive day.
