My family and I usually enter our home from the back so I don’t always see the front door up close until I open the door for a guest. By that time, it’s too late!
They’ve already been staring at the cobwebs and dirt kicked up on the door from a recent rain storm.
You may or may not be in the same situation. But, let’s take a few minutes today to spruce up the front door!
Spring Clean the Front Door
If you do nothing else, go stand outside your front door and take a good look. If this was your first time entering the home, what impression would you get walking up to the front door? Is it welcoming? Is it dirty? Would you change anything?
Next, grab a broom a sweep off the front porch, wipe away any cobwebs, wasp nests starting to form or even the beginning stages of bird nests. Yes, we’ve had them all! Then grab a wet rag and wipe away dirt and debris.
Finally, take note of changes you could make today or in the future. Does the paint need to be touched up? Could your door and/or porch use a little decor? How about a few Spring flowers?
The goal is certainly not perfection, but a little front door personality never hurt anyone!
Enjoy sprucing up your front door today! If you have time, clean up the back door too.
