A few weeks ago I was asked if I wanted I wanted to preview the ScanSnap iX100. Since I already use the ScanSnap ix500 (to scan boatloads of paper at a time) and ScanSnap sV600 (used to scan the kids 3D artwork and books) it was pretty much a no brainer that I wanted to put it to the test.
What immediately intrigued me was the iX100’s ability to sync with your mobile phone to scan on the go. I wasn’t sure how that would exactly work. But let me tell you, it’s amazing! Let me start from the beginning.
Syncing the Fujitsu ScanSnap iX100 with my iPhone
This ScanSnap connects to both Android and Apple phones. However, my experience is with an iPhone. It was superb.
First, this is what came in the box.
- Cord to connect to computer (not pictured)
- CD to connect to computer (not pictured)
The last two aren’t pictured because I didn’t need them to pair the iX100 with my iPhone.
2. I opened the front cover on the scanner to turn it on (pictured above).
I got hung up on how to turn it on. But seriously, all you have to do is open the front cover.
3. I opened the ScanSnap app on my iPhone.
Since I already used the app for a previous scanner it was already on my phone. If this is your first ScanSnap, you’ll need to download it first.
You can see how easy the instructions are to follow on the screenshot below.
4. I found/entered the appropriate Wi-Fi info printed on the bottom of the scanner.
5. Then I entered the password.
6. Viola! Success!
The entire process took about 60 seconds. All the previous ScanSnap scanners I’ve tried were easy to set up and the iX100 was no exception!
Scanning documents using the Fujitsu ScanSnap iX100 and my iPhone:
I was eager to start scanning! It’s a little easier to show you how sleek and easy it is to use on video. So here’s a little tutorial for ya!
I’m so impressed at how simple it is to scan documents with this little gadget. It’s been my go to scanner the past few weeks and I don’t see anything changing soon.
One of the features I like the most is how you can rename and save the documents directly to dropbox, Google Drive, iCloud etc.
There’s really no excuse for not being able to get your papers digitized with the iX100 🙂
Oh, before I forget…
How would you like a chance to WIN your very own Fujitsu ScanSnap iX100?!?!
Of course you would! Click on over to the entry page. One step and you’re entered!
You’re welcome 🙂
Let me know what you think. Would you just love to try the ScanSnap ix100 for yourself?
