Spring Cleaning fever is starting to hit! That means we need to get prepared. The last thing you want to happen when you’re finally motivated to clean, is to realize you don’t have what you need to get the job done.
That’s why I thought I’d share some of my favorite cleaning tools and products for each room of the house. Today I’m going to start with the must have cleaning products for the kitchen.
Must Have Cleaning Products for the Kitchen
Nylon Pan Scraper – this is one of my favorite cleaning tools ever. It help to clean dried food from pots, pans, and dishes as you wash them and even removed gunk that gets stuck to the floor, cabinets, and counters.
Bar Keeper’s Friend is amazing when it comes to cleaning a flat stovetop, the inside of your oven, or your kitchen sink (stainless steel or porcelain).
All-Purpose Cleaner – I like this one by Method right now.
Vinegar and baking soda – the ultimate combo to make all kinds of cleaning products. Plus they disinfect the dishwasher, garbage disposal, and just about every other appliance around. These are two good products to buy in bulk!
Granite Cleaner – stone countertops need to be cleaned in a very specific way. This homemade granite cleaner works great and can be made using common household products.
Dish Cloth – a dish cloth is a dish cloth, right? Well, I’m not so sure. I like cleaning cloths that help scrub the counter and wring out easily to dry.
Scrub brush – sponges hold germs like no other so I lean towards a good scrub brush to clean dishes. The ones that hold soap are excellent in theory, but all of the ones I’ve tried tend to leak.
Scrub Daddy – if you’d rather have a sponge-like cleaning tool, the scrub daddy is brilliant!
Dish Soap and dishwashing detergent – these are the obvious needed cleaning products right?
Broom and dustpan – the amount of food that ends up on our floor is ridiculous. Sometimes it makes me want a dog. Ha! But really a simple broom and dusptpan are all we need.
Floor specific cleaning tool – I’ve had hardwood floors in the kitchen in my last three homes, so I’m a big fan of the Bona Spray Mop with Dusting Cloth. However, I think I’m in the minority with hardwoods in the kitchen. If you have granite or laminate, a mop (or even a steam mop) may be exactly what you need.
These are my current favs when it comes to kitchen products. As I try new things, this list may change!
Until then, I’d love to know what your favorite kitchen cleaning products and tools are! Let me know in the comments.
