Do you ever wash your dishes by hand?
I usually hand wash the big things like mixing bowls, pots and pans, but dishware and silverware most often go in the dishwasher. I’d like to say it’s more efficient to put them in the dishwasher because of the way I load it (ahem) but, in reality, I’m probably just taking the easy way out! Well, the ecostore recently sent me some dishwashing liquid and all purpose cleaner to try. The shipping box and packaging was made from recycled material so that got me interested a bit more in the company. I perused their website and found that the ecostore product don’t have nasty chemicals like some traditional cleaners have. Trying a “green” cleaner was exciting but I did wonder just how well it would work.
Seeing my kitchen after my first Once A Month Cooking (OAMC) experience, I knew it was the right time to put it to the test! I loaded up the dishwasher with all the small items and then filled the sink with warm water and a squirt of the dishwashing liquid to tackle the big items.
Well, I cant tell a difference between the “green” detergent and the regular detergent I use. I guess that’s a good thing, right?! Same cleanliness but better for my health! Plus, it’s super concentrated so you don’t have to use much.
I’ve been using the all-purpose cleaner for a month now and really love it! Since I’m using it all over my house, I feel like I’m really making a difference with this product! Oh, and the orange scent smells is so nice compared to my usual cleaner.
Of course you can make your own “green” cleaners (iDreamofClean’s cleaning recipe list is continually growing) but that’s definitely not for everyone. So, if you want to go “green” but don’t want to bother making your own products, the ecostore is a great option!
