We can get so busy cleaning day-to-day messes that we forget about cleaning anything that isn’t urgent. Out of sight, out of mind, right? Thankfully, preparing for the holiday’s can often be the motivation we need to dig in and clean out the nitty gritty.
Next time you go on a cleaning spree, tackle a few extra areas by cleaning over and under those things usually on your list:
Over the refrigerator. When is the last time you looked on top of your refrigerator? I just checked mine out and there’s a collection of dust bunnies!
Over knickknacks. If you spend most of your time cleaning the main areas of your home, there’s a good chance a layer of dust has settled on trinkets and chotskies sitting around your home. You may be able to overlook it but there’s a good chance guests will easily notice.
Over door frames. Only the tallest of the tall may be able to see on top of your dirty door frames but rest assured they need a wipe down. One little swipe will eliminate dust that can be spread around, thus reducing allergens hiding in your home.
Under the refrigerator. If you pull it out I’m sure you’d see a few dropped pieces of food…and maybe a few coins as well.
Under the stove. Am I the only one who never thought to clean dirt under the stove until recently?
Under the rug. If you have rugs protecting your hardwood floors or just use them for decoration, pull them up every once in a while, give them a shake and vacuum all the dust that’s settled underneath.
What would you add to the list?
