31 Days to Make Cleaning a Habit – Habit 25
Trash Junk Mail Immediately
Many of you may not have a problem with junk mail. You’ve removed yourself from junk mail lists and go through your mail often. It’s just not a big deal in your household. If that sounds like you, congratulations!
If, however, you feel overwhelmed with the pile of mail sitting on your desk, rest assured you are not alone! There are plenty of people who grab everything out of the mailbox, walk inside their home and plop the days mail on top of a already huge pile. They are tired from the day and just plan to go through it later.
Unfortunately “later” rarely comes.
That’s why we’re going to start implementing easy habits over the next few days to eliminate some of the paper clutter too many of us have. The first step is an easy one.
Put junk mail in the trash as soon as you walk in the door!
- Do you need that advertisement?
- Are you going to read that magazine you didn’t subscribe to?
- Will you really use those coupons?
If the answer is yes, by all means keep it. If you can honestly say no, though, then don’t wait to put it in the trash. Your counter (and brain) will thank you!
