31 Days to Make Cleaning a Habit – Habit 19
Duplicate Your Cleaning Power With Little Effort
There are often times we can make our homes just a bit tidier without much effort on our part. We talked yesterday about never leaving a room empty handed but there are a few other examples we can use to double our cleaning power:
- If you’re vacuuming floors, pull out the vacuum hose to get dust off baseboards, dirt out of window sills, crumbs out of drawers and cabinets, or even crumbs off the stove (like one of my funny friends did recently).
- If you’ve just wiped down the kitchen counters for the last time that day and you’re about to put the dishrag in the laundry room, check the floor to see if you can wipe up a few spills with that same dishrag. It will reduce the effort you’ll later need to put into mopping.
- If you’re dusting furniture, wipe down blinds or window sills as well.
- If you are cleaning mirrors, use the same supplies to get smudges off windows or light switches.
Those are just a few examples but I’m sure you’ve been much more creative in your efforts. I’d love to hear from you…How do you double your cleaning power?
