Have you cleaned your mattress lately? I have to admit that it’s been a while for me. I just added it to the Ultimate Spring Cleaning Checklist and my cleaning schedule so I can remember to clean our mattress every year. But if you never-ever-ever want to remember to clean your mattress, get a great mattress cover protector and […]
Your house needs to be cleaned but you have absolutely no motivation to do it. What do you do? How do you get motivated to clean your home?
Since the season of cleaning is here, you’ll probably be doing a lot of it. So, I thought I’d share a few tips on how to get motivated to clean.
I’ve been wondering when and how to clean a chimney ever since my family moved into our house this year. Since having a wood burning fireplace is new to me, I wanted to make sure we operated and cleaned it correctly. However, I didn’t know a single thing about how to take care of a […]
Have you ever wondered how to clean a water cooler? Yeah, me either. Until last week.
My husband I were organizing the garage over Labor Day weekend and my 1 1/2 year old started rolling around the cooler like it was his personal toy. It kept him busy so I didn’t really mind.
When it was time to find an out of the way location in the garage store the cooler, I grabbed it from my son and opened it up. Pew-wee! That cooler was stinky!
We had taken water bottles and soft drinks over to a picnic earlier this summer, but we never cleaned the cooler out afterwards. It was obvious. Since we have a large cooler, I don’t really want to replace it very often (if ever). But even if we had a small or inexpensive cooler, there’s no reason it shouldn’t last for years.
Last year my husband and I were blessed to have great vision insurance. Unfortunately, we almost missed out on using it! On December 29, I hightailed myself down to the optometrist’s office to get an eye exam and a new pair of glasses.
After a $25 deductible, our vision insurance covered an eye exam and one basic pair of eyeglasses in full. Woohoo! Since my last few pairs of glasses have been twisted, mangled, and disheveled (thanks for athletics and kids), and I wear contacts on a daily basis, basic glasses are all I need. I don’t drive in glasses. I don’t need anti-glare. I don’t need other special coatings. I don’t need bifocals (yet!). I don’t need a designer look. I just need an inexpensive pair of eyeglasses that I can wear at home.
One of my chores growing up was to vacuum the carpet. My idea of vacuuming was to put a few lines in the carpet as “evidence” and move on about my day. Honestly, I wasn’t trying to shortcut the system. I just didn’t know any better. Until one day when my teenage step-brother showed me […]
During a recent Hometalk chat, I mentioned that I time myself when I clean. I didn’t think anything about it until I started getting all kinds of feedback from you guys. I’ve talked about it briefly in posts like Clean Your Kitchen in 5 Minutes or Less, 4 Things You Can Clean in 4 Minutes or Less, […]
